A Holiday Tradition

Well, it never fails...after EVERY holiday...the stomach flu.  This time it knocked poor little Genny down first.
Have you ever tried cleaning curdled milk vomit from the floor boards?  Oh GOD.  It took 3 attempts with the mop and bucket, and one gag inducing attempt with a toothpick.  The toothpick worked.  The mop just couldn't get into those tiny crevices.  Oh gag.  Get well soon, Genny girl.  We're almost outta toothpicks.

Oh Treadmill, My Treadmill

Dear Treadmill,
I forgot how much you suck.
That's all.

My Boys...On Love And Marriage

Isaac:  I'm never getting married.  I'm gonna live at home forever.  I like my room.

Noah: Well, I'M getting married.  I don't want to be the only person in my life when mommy and daddy die.

Little Bear

According to Nick Jr, "Little Bear encourages preschoolers to explore the diversity in the world around them and to share and care by nurturing social and emotional development."

Huh...and here I thought it was just a cartoon about a little naked bear and his animal friends.
Either way, he's Genny's new love and I love him, too.  He's LEAPS AND BOUNDS better than whiny, bald Caillou.  Bye bye, Caillou.  You're gonna have to find another 4 year old to whine and cry to now.  You've been replaced by a fuzzy, naked bear.
Doin' the fuzzy-naked-bear-dance.  It's sorta like the cha-cha.  And you sing "Bye bye, Caillou...bye bye!!!" while you dance.
Weeeeeeeeeee!!!!

A Conversation With Genny

Genny, your baby is so very sweet.  What's her name?

Oh.  She's not MY baby.  I'm babysitting.  Her mom's in Pinotonee, Florida.  The baby's name is Kitnee. Her's gonna live with us for 6 years.

Oh, my!!  That's a very long time, Genny. Welcome to the family, Kitnee.

Mommy, you're so weird.  Her's gonna see her mommy on Sunday.

Conversations with Genny always leave me smiling...(and scratching my head a little.)  I wish she could stay 4 forever...

Halloween

Halloween...I'm overwhelmed.  And that's all I have to say about that.

My Christmas List

Is Christmas really less than 8 weeks away?  OMG.  I'm prone to hives.  Christmas gives me hives.  I love, love, LOVE the holiday, but...hives.  All the baking and shopping and wrapping and planning and lists and parties...oh my God.  And the tree, the annual Christmas picture, the cards, the cleaning...CRAP!!  Two days after Christmas is my daughter's birthday and FIVE days after Christmas is our anniversary.  The entire month of December makes me itch.  Just THINKING about December makes me itch.  I'm seriously sitting here RIGHT NOW itching my arm.
BUT...Christmas means Santa. (and baby Jesus.  Sorry baby Jesus...I didn't forget you.)
This year I thought I'd give Santa a head's up and a jump start.  I hope the big guy reads blogs...

Dear Santa,

That's all.
Oh.  And dance lessons.  I love dancing with Rob and we don't do it enough.
Thanks, Santa.  I'll leave you cookies.
Love,
Colleen
